This talk has been going on for weeks about the cross-border rivalry. So who will most likely win? If you ask me, the Packers will win without any question. With Clay Matthews healing faster every day from his injury, he might just return for the game. Looking at the game on Sunday Night, nothing was good whatsoever about the Packers. Eli Manning‘s throws weren’t that accurate in the 1st and 2nd quarter. The thing is, Andre Brown, and Ahmad Bradshaw ran for 100+ yards combined.
That’s all the Giants had to do. There wasn’t one play were a Packer defender put EXTREME pressure on Eli Manning.
That goes to show that the Packers defense misses Clay Matthews so much. Greg Jennings is set to return this Sunday, but do not think that he will get 5 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown. He will get limited snaps, so expect Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and James Jones to get most of the receptions for the Packers.
So, where do the Vikings come into play with the Packers? Take a glimpse at the advantages the Packers have. Aaron Rodgers is arguably the best QB in the NFL right now. He has 4 wide receivers he can throw the ball to, and depend on them to catch the football. Those players are Greg Jennings( when he isn’t hurt), Jordy Nelson, James Jones, and Randall Cobb. The offensive line isn’t getting better, knowing that T.J Lang is now right tackle, and Evan Dietrich-Smith is now left guard. That makes it a disadvantage for Rodgers, without Bryan Bulaga protecting him.
Now to the Minnesota Vikings, a team in which fans thought they would be the same record as last year. They were wrong. The Vikings have all-around, the best offensive player in the NFL, and that’s Percy Harvin. He is fast, and can catch the ball, but that’s the problem with the Vikings. Harvin is the only great receiver on that team. Kyle Rudolph is above average, and the rest have done very little, to nothing to give. Last week, Jerome Simpson should’ve caught a 15 yard pass, and went straight through his hands. However, the Vikings have the best RB in the NFL, Adrian Peterson. He dominates every game, racks up yards, and is a truck through the opponent’s defense. Green Bay, has Cedric Benson, who is old, and can’t do as well anymore. Starks and Green are very average, and only get 3 yards a rush. Rudolph is better than Jermichael Finley, because Rudolph has fewer dropped passes than Finley has, and he has more yards total.
Christian Ponder, a QB from Florida State, a man who only passed for 58 passing yards against Arizona this year IN ONE GAME, still managed to win the game 21-14. Aaron Rodgers, the QB who threw 6 TD’s in the Texan’s backyard, got his biggest win of the year so far. My prediction: The Packers will win by a final score of 38-14. The Packers are 7-4, and have a shot at the wildcard, and the Vikings are 6-5, who also have a shot at the wildcard. This is going to be a wild race to the finish.
